Question 1

Peer review and assessment. I’m going to be reviewing the recently made long ans short case report. 

• The history of present illness was thoroughly taken from the patient and presented in a clear and concise manner. All the patients complaints were taken in great detail. 

• The progressive worsening of his joint symptoms was explained over the span of ten years along with all the medication used (and if they were effective or not).

• Analysis of the symptoms was done properly and all the possible reasons were thought of. Focusing on renal pathology due to edema and frothy urine and ruling out liver and heart dysfunction. The diagnosis of glomerulonephritis was done correctly. 

• Diagnosis of Polyarthritis was done due his symptoms of pain and edema at joints. 

• Clinical examination was done in great detail and all the associated pictures of the patients showing edema were also present. 

• Taking all the lab reports into consideration, glomerulonephritis was confirmed. The differential diagnosis for polyarthritis was found to be rheumatoid arthritis. The final diagnosis was made after thorough investigation as glomerulonephritis due to poorly treated rheumatoid arthritis. 

• Treatment needs to be explained better in more detail. Reasons for medicines needs to be explained.
